Grass jelly or commonly referred to as Cincau in Indonesia, or referred to as suong sam in Vietnam, is jelly made by squeezing the leaves of certain plants, extracts from the plant will clot to form jelly because of the carbohydrate content of the plant which is able to bind water molecules.

Grass jelly is usually made as a beverage refill ingredient, or can also be served as a dessert.

How to make

5. Then, using both hands, squeeze and turn the grass jelly to shatter, and the water turns green and foamy, this process is carried out so that the jelly is formed, squeeze for about 15-20 minutes or until it feels the water has started to thicken.

6. Take another container and filter, then filter grass jelly juice to separate grass jelly and leaves that have been destroyed.

7. Then leave it in the container for approximately 1 hour, or when it is felt that the grass jelly has thickened.
